The Luncheon brought together elected officials, from both provincial and municipal governments, and local social service agencies, including Bernard Betel Centre, JIAS Toronto, Reena, Kehilla Residential Programme, Circle of Care, and Jewish Family and Child, to serve lunch to over 200 guests. Betel says Goodbye to Rivka Campbell

Rivka Campbell, longtime Betel Computer Instructor, is leaving Betel at the end of October to take on the role of Executive Director at Congregation Beit Rayim in Thornhill. Although, we are sad to see her go, we are thrilled for her and her next phase of her life! Rivka was part of the Bernard Betel Centre volunteer team for 10 years as a dedicated and knowledgeable volunteer in the Computer Department. When the role of Instructor for the Beginners Computer class became available, Rivka took on the role and made the class her own. Read more HERE.

Please submit your entries by email at feedback@betelcentre.org or in the box at the Information Desk or at Reception. Please include your name, phone number or email address, and suggestion for the new name. You can submit more than one entry. Our Executive Director, Gail Gould, will contact the lucky winner on February 18, A panel of Betel program staff will be the judges. Good luck and have fun!

Feature Volunteer - Norma Vale

Although she's a new face in the Library, Norma's first experience at Betel was facilitating a workshop on stress management in 2008. 11 years later, Norma returned ready to make a longer term volunteer commitment. Her timing was great as our Librarian at the time was retiring after 16 years of service and Norma was interested in taking on this volunteer role. Her love of reading and inquisitive nature brings a new dimension to the Library. Read more HERE.
