Walk 17,000 steps May 29 - one step for every person in York Region living with Alzheimer's disease and other dementias.
IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer's is again virtual
On Saturday, May 29, we are again walking to #makememoriesmatter virtually. The annual Walk for Alzheimer's raises awareness about the more than 17,000 York Region residents living with this fatal disease as well as funds to support programs and services to make the journey easier. This year, we are asking people to walk a step for every York Region resident living with the disease. Learn more and register today.
Caregiver study - young-onset dementia
Researchers at the University of Waterloo are conducting a study to better understand the perceptions of adult children who have a parent with young-onset dementia. Those 18 and older who have had caregiving experience within the last two years are invited to participate in the online/telephone interview that will be between 45 and 60 minutes in length. By sharing your experiences, researchers hope to inform development of future age-appropriate supports for this population. Contact Camryn Berry at c3berry@uwaterloo.ca or call 519-503-2245.
